Reassurance

I got a Facebook message from my friend Emilie, we met in England while I was there, yesterday. She sent me this verse:

"He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over you will not slumber." Psalm 121:3

She told me felt like this verse was fitting because of the emotions I must be going through with such a big step, but that she wanted me to know God is always there. My heart melted and it was just nice for her to send me this because it was exactly what I needed. It's becoming more and more real what I am doing and how scary.exciting it is!

Another awesome thing was I e-mailed the old youth leader at the church I grew up in to ask if she had anything she would be willing to donate (bibles, etc.) and she said yes come on by! So I stopped by during lunch today and got lots of great stuff! Encouraging and mind blowing really to think that a small church in Texas will make a difference in England!

18 DAYS!

My life is crazy right now because: yes, I move to England in 18 DAYS!

I finally got my visa after a war with the UPS people and a trip to Conroe. After that I was able to book my flights! I fly out August 13 and after a 13 hour plane ride and a 3 hour train ride I will arrive in Nunthorpe August 14. I've never flown by myself in the states much less across the country so I am kind of nervous, but I think my excitement surpasses it. It is so crazy to think in less than three weeks I will be living there with only a week and a half trip home in October for Becca's wedding. My mom thinks I will be crying in a couple months to come back home, but I told her even if I am I won't tell her :) I'm sure I will get homesick, but I have faith that Nunthorpe is where God wants me to be and I am so eager to see what he has in store for me!

Making Progress!

Good news: my visa should be mailed off tomorrow! Hopefully in six short weeks I will be on the plane to England!

I had to go downtown this morning to get some digital fingerprints and stuff before I could finish my application. Most know I don’t have the worlds best driving record and Houston traffic is crazy so this morning my mom announced she was going with me because my dad was in a tizzy and worried about me going alone. Yes my daddy still thinks I’m his little girl :)

Worked out good though because after my appointment me and mama did a little shopping before meeting pops for lunch. Best part of the day, along with the constant banter between me and mom in the car. Apparently she thinks she knows Houston like the back of her hand and apparently I almost killed her. Needless to say it was interesting! :)

Oh and fed my obsession and got some more pride and prejudice inspired books at a used book store. For some reason I can’t resist a novel linked to the original :)

About Time

I figured it was about time I broke down and got a blog. I already have Facebook and Twitter so what’s one more app on my iPhone? Plus with me moving to England in August (fingers crossed) I figured this would be a perfect way to keep everyone updated on what is going on in my life.

For those of you who don’t know (can’t imagine there are many of you since I tell everyone) I am going back to England to work as a youth worker in a church for a year. Crazy? Just a little bit, but I can’t wait. God has definitely put England on my heart and I am dying to get back across the pond. Which if you know me you know patience is not my thing!

Last night I had a minor melt down because I can’t make decisions for the life of me and I had to decide roughly when I was going to go back for some paperwork. The dilemma is I have a wedding (congrats Cody and Rebecca!) I am in October and I want to leave in August. This means I will have to fly back for the wedding. Good old Mum thinks this is dumb and a waste of money … and she probably has a somewhat valid point but I will probably end up doing just that instead of waiting until after the wedding to leave because well PATIENCE … I have zip, zero, nada and I would never survive waiting that long to go back!
I’m working on getting my visa done right now and hopefully it goes smoothly! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers!
